Short answer: BILL's accounts payable plans now list at $49 (Essentials), $65 (Team) and $89 (Corporate) per user per month, with Enterprise priced on request. Older listings and third-party price trackers show the same tiers at $45, $55 and $79, so the increase is $4 a seat on Essentials and $10 a seat on Team and Corporate. For a five-person team on Team, that is $600 more a year. The bigger lever for most companies is not the seat price but what sits behind it: every approver is a paid seat, every ACH costs $0.59 and every mailed check $1.99, and NetSuite or Sage Intacct sync needs the custom-priced Enterprise plan.

Bill.com price increase by plan
| BILL AP plan | Older list price | Current list price | Change per seat per year | What the plan unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $45 per user per month | $49 per user per month | +$48 | Approvals and payments, accounting sync by manual CSV import and export |
| Team | $55 per user per month | $65 per user per month | +$120 | Automatic two-way sync with QuickBooks Online, Pro, Premier and Xero, custom user roles |
| Corporate | $79 per user per month | $89 per user per month | +$120 | Custom approval policies and discounts for approver-only users |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Quoted | Sync with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Dynamics |
The current prices come from BILL's own pricing page. The older figures come from earlier third-party listings and price trackers, and those trackers do not agree on the exact date of the change, so treat the timing as approximate. BILL does not publish a price history.
What the increase costs a real AP team
Seat pricing scales with headcount, not with invoices. Here is the extra annual cost of the new list prices for typical team sizes, before any payment fees:
| Users | Essentials, extra per year | Team, extra per year | Team, total per year now | Corporate, total per year now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | $144 | $360 | $2,340 | $3,204 |
| 5 | $240 | $600 | $3,900 | $5,340 |
| 10 | $480 | $1,200 | $7,800 | $10,680 |
| 20 | $960 | $2,400 | $15,600 | $21,360 |
The seat increase on its own is rarely a reason to switch. A few hundred dollars a year is less than one week of an AP clerk's time. What usually pushes teams to look around is the shape of the bill once you count everything.
The costs that grow faster than the seat price
Approvers are seats
Every person who approves bills needs a user. A department head who signs off on six invoices a month costs the same $65 as your full-time AP specialist. BILL offers discounts for approver-only users, but only on Corporate and Enterprise. A company with two AP staff and eight approvers on Team pays for ten seats, which is $7,800 a year at list price.
Payment fees run on every payment
BILL charges $0.59 per ACH payment and $1.99 per mailed check on every plan. Faster options cost more: Pay Faster ACH is $11.99, an instant payment is 1 percent with a $9.99 minimum, and an international USD wire is $19.99. A team sending 200 ACH payments and 80 checks a month pays about $277 a month in fees, or roughly $3,300 a year, which can match the subscription itself.
If you do not know your own payment mix, pull last year's operating account statements and convert the PDF bank statement to a spreadsheet so you can count ACH debits, checks and wires by month. Ten minutes with that file tells you whether fees or seats are the real problem.
The sync you need may sit on a higher plan
Essentials only moves data to QuickBooks or Xero by manual CSV import and export. Automatic two-way sync starts on Team. If your ledger is NetSuite or Sage Intacct, BILL syncs it only on Enterprise, which is quoted, not listed. A growing company that moves from QuickBooks to NetSuite can see its BILL cost jump far more than any list price increase.
How much does Bill.com cost per month?
BILL's AP plans cost $49, $65 or $89 per user per month for Essentials, Team and Corporate, and Enterprise is custom. On top of that you pay per payment: $0.59 per ACH and $1.99 per mailed check, with higher fees for faster and international payments. A three-user Team account sending 100 ACH payments a month comes to about $254 a month at list price. Our Bill.com pricing page breaks down each plan in more detail.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Bill.com?
Yes, and which one is cheaper depends on what you are paying BILL for. Teams with many occasional approvers save most with a tool that does not charge per user. Teams that mostly need to pay vendors save with bill pay bundled into a card or payments product. Teams on NetSuite or Sage Intacct save with any tool that syncs those ledgers below an enterprise plan.
| Tool | Published price | How it is metered | Cheaper than BILL when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Melio | Core $25 a month ($20 billed annually), Boost $55, Unlimited $80, extra users $10 each | Flat plan plus extra users, ACH free up to a monthly allowance then $0.50, checks $1.50 | You are a small team paying domestic vendors by ACH |
| Ramp | Free plan, Plus $15 per user per month plus a platform fee | Bill pay bundled with cards, ACH $0.59 and check $1.99, waived when paid from Ramp Checking | You want cards, expenses and bill pay in one place |
| Tipalti | AP from $99 a month | Platform fee plus invoice and payment fees, unlimited users | You pay many international suppliers or have many approvers |
| Quadient AP, Stampli, AvidXchange | No published list price | Quote based, typically on invoice volume | You run complex approvals at mid-market volume |
| AutoPayables | $49 a month for 200 invoices, $149 a month unlimited | Invoice volume only, no per-user or per-payment fee | You have several approvers and want capture, coding and sync without seat pricing |

Can you negotiate Bill.com pricing?
Sometimes. The most concrete lever BILL publishes is the approver-only user discount on Corporate and Enterprise, so if most of your seats only approve, ask whether a Corporate quote with discounted approvers comes out lower than Team at full price. Enterprise is quoted, so volume and contract length are negotiable there. Payment fees are listed as applying on every plan, so plan to reduce them by changing payment methods rather than by negotiating.
Should you switch after the price increase?
Run three numbers before you decide. First, seats: how many of your users only approve? If it is more than half, per-user pricing is working against you. Second, payments: what did you pay BILL in transaction fees last year, and could those payments go out from your own bank instead? Third, sync: does your ledger, today or after your next growth step, force you onto Enterprise?
If all three come back small, stay. BILL is well known to accountants, vendors already recognize its payment emails, and moving costs a few weeks of setup. If one of them is large, price an alternative against your real numbers, not the list price.
Where AutoPayables fits
AutoPayables costs $49 a month for 200 invoices or $149 a month for unlimited invoices, with no per-user fee, so ten approvers cost the same as one. It reads invoices with AI down to line items, codes each line to a GL account, checks for duplicates, matches against purchase orders, and syncs with QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite and Sage on both paid plans. Payments go out as NACHA ACH files, check PDFs with Positive Pay or ISO 20022 wire files from your own bank, so there is no per-payment fee from us.
It is not a drop-in copy of BILL. AutoPayables does not move money for you, does not offer instant payments or virtual cards, does not run a vendor payment network, and uses one approval threshold rather than custom approval policies. If you rely on those, a cheaper BILL plan or a different payments product is the better move. If you do not, upload a real invoice at the top of this page and compare the coded result with what BILL gives you today, or see our plans.
Stop keying invoices by hand
AutoPayables captures vendor, amounts and dates from any invoice with AI, applies spend-threshold approval, and keeps a full audit trail. Accounting sync pushes approved bills to your general ledger.
