Routable's Growth plan costs $1,250 a month, or $1,000 a month billed annually, and it does not include invoice OCR. Invoice capture, PO matching and predictive coding sit on custom quoted Scale and Enterprise plans. If your team needs invoices read, coded, matched and approved more than it needs mass payouts, AutoPayables does that for $49 or $149 a month, published.

The invoice work Routable Growth leaves out

Both paid AutoPayables plans include the capture and matching that Routable prices on custom tiers.

AI invoice capture

Upload PDFs or phone photos in bulk. Vendor, dates, totals and every line item are read for you, on every plan.

Line level GL coding

Each line gets a suggested GL account. Confirm it once and the next bill from that vendor arrives coded.

Two and three way PO matching

Bills are checked against purchase orders and receipts before approval, without a separate add-on price.

Duplicate invoice checks

Repeat invoice numbers and lookalike bills are flagged before they reach a payment run.

Threshold approvals with a log

Bills under your dollar limit approve automatically, larger ones wait for a person, and every decision is recorded.

ACH files and checks from your bank

Download a NACHA file, check PDFs and Positive Pay, then pay through the bank you already use.

How to price Routable against a published plan

Twenty minutes with last month's bills gives you a number to put next to the Routable quote.

1

Count last month's bills

Pull the number of vendor bills, the split between ACH, check and wire, and how many payees are outside the US.

2

Upload a real batch

Drop those invoices into AutoPayables. Capture and coding run on your own documents, not a demo file.

3

Check the matches and approvals

Match bills to open POs, approve anything above your threshold, and see what still needs a person.

4

Put the two prices side by side

Compare $288 or $888 a year with Routable's annual Growth price plus the Scale quote you would need for OCR.

Teams that compare Routable pricing with AutoPayables

They usually arrive with a Routable quote and a stack of domestic supplier invoices.

Distributors and wholesalers

A few hundred domestic supplier bills a month, most against purchase orders. Matching matters, international rails do not.

Multi entity service firms

Each office pays its own vendors by ACH and check. A flat $149 a month for unlimited invoices beats a five figure platform fee.

QuickBooks and Xero teams outgrowing manual entry

They need bills read and synced to the ledger, not a payouts engine priced for marketplaces.

Controllers asked to cut software spend

A published price and a monthly term are easier to defend in a budget review than a custom quote with add-ons.

Routable pricing at a glance

Routable publishes one number. Its pricing page lists the Growth plan at $1,250 a month billed monthly, with 20% off for annual billing, which works out to $1,000 a month or $12,000 a year. Scale and Enterprise are custom quotes reached through a "Get in touch" button. We checked Routable's own page for every figure below. One review directory still shows $1,575 a month for Growth, so treat older third party numbers with care and confirm the current figure with Routable before you budget.

The line that matters most for an AP team is the last column. On Routable's Growth plan the invoice side of accounts payable (reading PDFs, coding lines, matching to purchase orders) is not part of the package. Routable lists invoice OCR on Scale and Enterprise, and it lists PO matching and predictive coding as add-ons on top of those quotes. So the published $1,250 buys a payments platform. The invoice automation most buyers are shopping for sits behind a sales conversation.

What Routable costs per year at different volumes

Because Growth is a flat monthly fee, the cost per bill falls as volume rises. That is the honest case for Routable at scale. The table uses the published Growth price only, which means it understates the cost of any team that also needs invoice OCR, because that requires a Scale quote we cannot see.

Bills paid per monthRoutable Growth, annual billingCost per billAutoPayables, annual billingCost per bill
100$12,000 a year$10.00$288 a year (Growth)$0.24
200$12,000 a year$5.00$288 a year (Growth)$0.12
500$12,000 a year$2.00$888 a year (Scale)$0.15
2,000$12,000 a year$0.50$888 a year (Scale)$0.04

Neither column includes payment fees. Routable's pricing page does not list a per payment fee for ACH, checks or international transfers; its payment options FAQ asks whether there are fees by payment method without answering it on the public page, and its help center points customers to the Payment methods tab inside the dashboard. Ask for that schedule in writing before you sign. With AutoPayables you upload a NACHA file through your own bank, so the ACH cost is whatever your bank already charges you.

When Routable is worth the price

Routable is built around sending money. If your problem is paying thousands of contractors, creators or sellers on a schedule, or paying vendors abroad in their own currency, it does things we do not do at all. Its payment options page lists Same Day, Next Day, Expedited and Standard ACH, local rails and SWIFT wires for international payees, RTP and FedNow instant transfers, and eleven check delivery options through USPS and FedEx. It also says it saves 30 to 50% on foreign exchange. Pair that with unlimited seats, an API and webhooks on the entry plan, and a marketplace or platform company with heavy payout volume can justify $12,000 a year quickly.

It is a harder sell for a finance team whose pain is the invoice inbox. A controller at a 40 person distributor paying 150 domestic suppliers a month does not need international rails or mass payouts. They need bills read, coded, matched to POs, approved over a dollar limit and paid by ACH. For that team the Growth plan buys capacity they will not use and leaves out the capture they came for.

What AutoPayables does instead

AutoPayables is AP automation with the price on the page. Both paid plans read invoice PDFs and photos, suggests a GL account for each line, runs two and three way matching against purchase orders and receipts, flags duplicate invoices, and routes anything above your approval threshold to a person with a full log. Approved bills sync to QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite and Sage. When it is time to pay, the payment run produces a NACHA ACH file for your bank, check PDFs for your own stock and a Positive Pay file.

Be clear about the limits before you switch. We have one approval threshold, not multi level or role based routing. We do not move money ourselves, so there are no instant payments, no international wires and no mass payouts. If those are on your must have list, Routable or a payments platform like it is the better buy, and you can compare the field on our AP automation pricing comparison.

How to get a real Routable quote

Go in with numbers. Routable says transaction volume is one of the main drivers of price, so bring your monthly bill count, the share paid by ACH, check and wire, how many payees are outside the US, and whether you need invoice OCR. Ask whether PO matching and predictive coding are priced per add-on, what the vendor cap above 1,000 costs, and what each payment method costs per transaction. Get the annual commitment terms in writing, because the 20% discount assumes you pay for the year.

Frequently asked questions

Routable's Growth plan costs $1,250 a month billed monthly, according to Routable's own pricing page, with 20% off for annual billing, about $12,000 a year. Scale and Enterprise are custom quotes. Those higher tiers are where invoice OCR, trainable OCR and the PO matching and predictive coding add-ons live.

Not on the Growth plan. Routable lists invoice OCR and trainable OCR on its Scale and Enterprise plans, both custom quoted, and lists PO matching, predictive coding and advanced approval workflows as add-ons. A team that needs invoices read automatically should budget for a Scale quote, not the $1,250 Growth price.

Routable's public pricing page does not list per payment fees. Its payment options page asks whether fees differ by payment method without answering on the page, and its help center points customers to the Payment methods tab in the dashboard. Ask for the ACH, check, wire and international fee schedule in writing before signing.

Routable's pricing page does not offer a free trial. The Growth plan button reads Get started, and Scale and Enterprise lead to Get in touch and Request a demo. ERP Research also lists no free trial. AutoPayables lets you process your first 20 real invoices before you pick a paid plan.

Usually not, unless payouts are the core problem. At $12,000 a year on annual billing, Growth makes sense for platforms paying many contractors or international payees. A small AP team paying domestic suppliers mostly needs capture, coding, matching and approvals, which Routable prices on higher, quoted tiers.

Routable's Growth plan includes accounting and ERP integrations, an API and webhooks. Third party reviews list QuickBooks, Xero, Oracle NetSuite and Sage Intacct. AutoPayables syncs approved bills to QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite and Sage, and also exports import files if you prefer to post them yourself.

If your priority is invoice processing rather than mass payouts, AutoPayables costs $49 a month for 200 invoices or $149 for unlimited, with capture, GL coding, PO matching and duplicate checks on both plans. You pay vendors from your own bank with a NACHA file, so there is no platform payment fee.
