The best MineralTree alternative depends on which MineralTree product you run and why you are leaving. For TotalAP customers who mainly need invoice capture, coding and approvals, AutoPayables costs a published $49 a month for 200 invoices or $149 for unlimited, with no setup fee. For card rebates and global payouts, Tipalti and AvidXchange are the closest matches. Inspyrus customers should compare enterprise suites such as Medius instead. MineralTree publishes no price, only its fee structure.

What to check in any MineralTree alternative
MineralTree bundles capture, approvals and a payment network. Decide which part you are actually paying for before you compare.
A price you can forecast
MineralTree charges setup, platform and monthly usage fees. Prefer a vendor whose total you can calculate from your invoice count alone.
Whether rebates still pay
Virtual card rebates only help if your vendors take cards. Count how many do before the rebate decides your shortlist.
Capture on your worst invoices
Upload scanned, multi-page bills with many lines. A good tool reads every line without a template.
Line-level GL coding
Check that each invoice line can carry its own GL account, not just the header, so month-end needs no recoding.
Duplicates and PO matching
Look for duplicate detection before approval and two-way or three-way matching against purchase orders and receipts.
Your ERP by name
MineralTree covers Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks and Dynamics GP natively. Confirm your system is named, and how it connects.
How to test a MineralTree alternative in one afternoon
Run it beside MineralTree until you trust the output.
Upload five real invoices
Pick the messiest ones and check what the AI extracted against the paper.
Code lines and set a threshold
Map each line to a GL account and choose the dollar amount above which a bill needs approval.
Match a bill to a purchase order
Enter a PO, match the bill to it, then upload a duplicate and watch it get flagged.
Compare twelve months of cost
Put your real invoice and payment volumes into each quote and compare totals, including setup fees.

- Usage meters for capture, ACH and checks
- Duplicates caught after the bill is entered
With AutoPayables
- $49 or $149 a month, listed on the pricing page

- Self-serve signup, first invoice processed the same day
- Flat monthly plan, unlimited invoices on Scale
- Duplicate checks and PO matching before approval
Who switches from MineralTree, and who should not
Honest fit, based on what each product does.
QuickBooks and Sage Intacct teams under 1,000 bills a month
Capture and coding are the bottleneck. A flat plan replaces four fee lines.
Controllers renewing an annual platform fee
The renewal is the moment to re-price. Run a parallel month before the notice date.
Teams whose vendors want ACH or check
If few vendors accept cards, rebates do not offset the platform fee. Paying from your own bank costs less.
Who should stay on MineralTree
Large card-accepting vendor bases, multi-level approval chains, or Inspyrus customers with global e-invoicing needs.
MineralTree alternatives compared on price, setup and payments
The table uses each vendor's own pricing page where one exists. Where a vendor does not publish a number, the table says so rather than guessing. Pricing changes often, so confirm it on the vendor's site before you sign anything.
| Tool | Published price | How you start | Pays vendors? | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MineralTree TotalAP | Not published. MineralTree says pricing includes one-time setup fees, an annual platform fee and monthly usage fees for capture, ACH and checks | "Request A Demo" | Yes: ACH, check, virtual card with rebates | Mid-market teams on Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks or Dynamics GP that want card rebates |
| AutoPayables | $49/mo (200 invoices), $149/mo (unlimited); first 20 invoices as a one-time trial | Self-serve signup, no sales call | You pay from your own bank: we generate NACHA ACH files, printable checks and Positive Pay files | Teams whose pain is capture, coding, approvals and PO matching rather than card rebates |
| BILL | Essentials $49, Team $65, Corporate $89 per user per month; Enterprise custom | Self-serve on the three published tiers | Yes: ACH, card, check, international | Small businesses that want AP and payments in one familiar tool |
| Tipalti | From $99/month for AP, from $249/month for Mass Payments, plus transaction fees | Sales-assisted | Yes, including global payouts | Companies paying many international suppliers or running several entities |
| AvidXchange | Not published | Demo request | Yes: AvidPay network, supplier-side fees set by agreement | Real estate, construction and HOA teams that want managed payments |
| Stampli | Not published | "Request a Quote" | Offers vendor payments; terms by quote | ERP-based mid-market teams that want approvers to discuss invoices in one place |
| Ramp | Free $0; Plus $15 per user per month plus a platform fee; Enterprise custom | Self-serve | Yes: bill pay included | Companies already running Ramp corporate cards |
| Medius | Not published; AP Essentials and AP 360 both list unlimited users | "Talk to sales", "Get a quote" | Varies by package; confirm with Medius | Larger teams replacing Inspyrus-class enterprise AP |
Why finance teams look for a MineralTree alternative
MineralTree is a solid mid-market product with a long integration list, so most people who search for an alternative are not running from a broken tool. They are usually reacting to one of three things.
The first is the price model. MineralTree does not publish numbers, but its TotalAP page is unusually candid about the structure: one-time setup fees, an annual platform fee, and monthly usage fees for invoice capture, ACH payments and check payments. That is four separate meters. A controller budgeting for next year has to forecast invoice volume, payment mix and check count before they know the bill, and a renewal can move on any of them.
The second is ownership. MineralTree bought Inspyrus in September 2020 and was itself acquired by Global Payments in September 2021. The product now carries the line "A Global Payments Company". For many customers that changes nothing day to day, but teams that chose MineralTree as an independent AP specialist sometimes want to re-run the market when the parent is a payments processor whose priorities sit elsewhere.
The third is fit. MineralTree's economics lean on payments, especially virtual cards that "earn rebates". If most of your vendors will not accept a card, the rebate story shrinks and you are paying platform and usage fees mostly for capture and approvals. That is exactly the work cheaper capture-first tools do well.
MineralTree pricing and what drives the total
MineralTree does not list a price on its site, and every directory figure you find is an estimate, not a MineralTree number. What MineralTree does state is what you pay for: a setup fee to start, a platform fee each year, and usage fees each month for capture, ACH and checks. Virtual card payments are described as "a free and secure payment method", which is typical of card programs where the network, not the buyer, pays the processing cost.

To compare honestly, build a twelve-month model with your real numbers: invoices per month, the share paid by ACH, the share still paid by check, and the share your vendors would accept by card. Ask MineralTree for a written quote on those exact volumes, then put the same volumes into each alternative. Our AP automation pricing comparison lists what every major vendor publishes, and the self-serve AP automation page covers which vendors let you start without a sales call.
MineralTree TotalAP vs Inspyrus, and which alternative maps to each
MineralTree sells two different products, and the right alternative depends on which one you run. TotalAP is the mid-market platform. It comes in three configurations (invoice capture only, payments only, or full invoice to pay), claims "up to 99% accuracy" from OCR plus human validation, and says implementations average four weeks from kickoff to first payment, with some customers onboarded in two to three weeks. Native API connections cover Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics GP, and a CSV-based File Connect covers Sage 50 and Acumatica. There is also a separate Vendor Payments product embedded in Sage Intacct.
Inspyrus is the enterprise line. It targets shared services centers working across "130+ countries" and integrates with Oracle EBS, Oracle JD Edwards, Oracle Cloud ERP, PeopleSoft, SAP and Infor, with global e-invoicing compliance. If you run Inspyrus, your realistic alternatives are enterprise suites such as Medius, Esker, Basware or Coupa. A $49 or $149 a month tool is the wrong comparison and we will not pretend otherwise.
If you run TotalAP, the field is wider. BILL, Tipalti, AvidXchange, Stampli, Ramp and AutoPayables all compete for the same mid-market budget.
The best MineralTree alternatives, one by one
AutoPayables, for capture and approvals at a published price
AutoPayables reads each invoice with AI, codes every line to its own GL account, flags duplicates, matches bills to purchase orders two-way or three-way, and routes anything above your dollar threshold for approval with a logged decision. Invoices arrive by upload or by forwarding them to your account's private bills address. For payment, it generates NACHA ACH files, printable checks and Positive Pay files that you send through your own bank, so there is no network sitting between you and your vendors. The limits are real: one approval threshold rather than multi-level routing, no virtual cards or rebates, and no entity dimension. If those matter more than price, look at Tipalti or MineralTree itself.
BILL, for small teams that want payments built in
BILL publishes per-user pricing and runs ACH, card, check and international payments. It suits companies with a handful of approvers. Per-user pricing gets expensive as more people need to approve bills, which is the most common reason growing teams leave it. See our Bill.com alternatives page for the detail.
Tipalti, for multi-entity and global payouts
Tipalti is the closest like-for-like for MineralTree customers who also pay international suppliers. It publishes starting prices, then adds transaction fees and charges for extra entities. We compare the two directly on the Tipalti vs MineralTree page.
AvidXchange, for managed vendor payments
AvidXchange runs its own payment network and is strongest in real estate, construction and HOA management. Like MineralTree, it monetizes payments, so the same rebate math applies. Note that Corpay and TPG took AvidXchange private in October 2025.
Stampli, for invoice collaboration on an ERP
Stampli centers each invoice in a conversation thread so approvers can ask questions in place. It does not publish pricing. Its integration method differs by ERP, so ask which mechanism it uses for yours rather than assuming.
Ramp, for companies already on Ramp cards
Ramp includes bill pay at no extra cost on its Free tier and is a natural fit if your spend already runs through Ramp cards. AP depth is lighter than a dedicated tool when you need PO matching across many vendors.
How to switch from MineralTree without a gap
Run the new tool beside MineralTree for one close cycle. Export your vendor master and open bills first, then send a week of new invoices through both systems and compare the extracted fields, the GL coding and the approval trail. Keep MineralTree live for payments already scheduled. Before you give notice, check the renewal clause on your annual platform fee, because that date, not the software, usually decides when you can switch.
If your bottleneck is invoice entry and approvals, start with the converter above: upload a few of your hardest invoices and see what comes back before you commit to anything. If you also need payment files for your bank, the NACHA file software page shows how approved bills turn into an ACH file.
Frequently asked questions
The best MineralTree alternatives are AutoPayables, BILL, Tipalti, AvidXchange, Stampli and Ramp for TotalAP customers, and Medius, Esker or Basware for Inspyrus customers. Choose AutoPayables for capture, coding and approvals at a published price, Tipalti for global payouts and multiple entities, and AvidXchange for a managed payment network.
MineralTree's main competitors are AvidXchange, Tipalti, BILL, Stampli and Ramp in mid-market AP, plus Medius, Esker, Basware and Coupa at the enterprise end where Inspyrus competes. Most directory lists also include Melio and Routable, which focus more on paying bills than on invoice capture and matching.
MineralTree does not publish prices. Its TotalAP page states that pricing includes one-time setup fees, an annual platform fee, and monthly usage fees for invoice capture, ACH payments and check payments. Any dollar figure you see on a directory is a third-party estimate. Ask for a written quote based on your real monthly invoice and payment volumes.
Yes. Global Payments acquired MineralTree in September 2021, and the product is branded as a Global Payments company. MineralTree had itself acquired the enterprise AP vendor Inspyrus in September 2020, which is why it now sells both TotalAP for the mid-market and Inspyrus for large enterprises.
TotalAP is MineralTree's mid-market platform, sold as capture only, payments only, or full invoice to pay, with native connections to Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite and Dynamics GP. Inspyrus is the enterprise product for shared services teams on Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or Infor, with global e-invoicing across more than 130 countries.
Yes. MineralTree lists a native API connection to QuickBooks, alongside Sage Intacct, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics GP. Sage 50 and Acumatica connect through its CSV-based File Connect instead. Confirm whether your edition of QuickBooks is covered before you sign, since Online and Desktop are different products.
MineralTree says TotalAP implementations average four weeks from kickoff meeting to first payment, and some customers are onboarded in two to three weeks. A self-serve tool such as AutoPayables processes its first invoice the same day you sign up, because there is no implementation project or setup fee.
Tipalti is better if you pay many international suppliers or run several legal entities, because global payouts and multi-entity handling are its core. MineralTree is often the better fit for US mid-market teams that want card rebates and a native Sage Intacct or Dynamics GP connection. Tipalti publishes starting prices; MineralTree does not.
